Most modern computers have multiple cores (or threads) that can process different tasks independently. When in Automatic mode, the KEY36 plugin will use all your computer’s CPU cores except one (to leave some responsiveness to your computer). If you want to manually choose how many CPU cores are allocated to the KEY36 plugin, you can enter a number, usually between 1 and 8.
